"COUNCIL FOR A PARLIAMENT OF THE WORLD'S RELIGIONS"

Statement of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions ........
"Peace is at once the destination and the path. Hatred is never ended by hatred but only by mutual understanding and regard. These convictions come from the deepest beliefs of the world’s religious and spiritual communities.

We, members of the Board of Trustees of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions, grieve at the continuing violence and the loss of life and civilian infrastructure and damage to the earth. We mourn the many deaths that have occurred and pray that the violence may end soon. All human lives are sacred and must be respected. In an increasingly interdependent world, the well-being of all peoples is interconnected. In such a world, the smallest unit of survival is indeed the whole human family.

We are convinced that real security cannot be achieved by war and violence, but only by a respect for human rights and by a spirit of cooperation and tolerance.

"Mercy Corps is responding to the earthquake and tsunami that devastated northern Japan on March 11. Our partner, Peace Winds, continues to deliver emergency supplies — including large shelters, tents, blankets, instant rice and fresh produce — to families evacuated from homes in the tsunami-devastated city of Kesennuma. Our most experienced disaster-relief expert is on the ground in Japan to support their efforts."

Mercy Corps is reaching out to Lebanese who are returning to two areas of southern Lebanon, and supporting vulnerable families in a hard-hit Beirut suburb. We've already put people back to work clearing debris -  providing valuable income to families - and we continue to deliver critical relief items to families in need.

Mercy Corps is helping Indonesian earthquake survivors put temporary roofs over their heads and meet their critical needs. Our emergency teams are also supplying communities with the tools they need to start their recovery."

"WORLD INVOCATION DAY"                                             G

A World Day of Prayer, Invocation and Meditation - June 2, 2015. An Invitation to Men and Women of Goodwill.

"World Invocation Day is a world day of prayer when men and women of every spiritual path join in a universal appeal to divinity and use The Great Invocation (translated into nearly 70 languages and dialects). Together they focus the invocative demand of humanity for the light, the love and the spiritual direction needed to build a world of justice, unity and peace.
Each year since 1952, people everywhere have celebrated World Invocation Day, joining in the affirmation of the oneness of humanity, the livingness of our relationship to God and the responsibility of humanity for the working out of the divine Plan on earth."

For more information contact World Goodwill.

THE GREAT INVOCATION

From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.

From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men -
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

"The above Invocation, Mantra or Prayer belongs to all Humanity. There are certain central truths and laws that are accepted by all people worldwide, inherently and rightly so, - the truth of a Being of the Highest Power Whom we contribute all things known and unknown, governing, guiding, motivating energies of power which are the just laws of the universe - LOVE." - CJ Wheat

"People of all differing faiths believe in a World Teacher or Saviour, knowing him under such names as
the Christ, the Lord Maitreya, the Imam Mahdi, the Bodhisattva, and the Messiah, and these terms are used in some of
the Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish versions of the Great Invocation.

Men and women of goodwill throughout the world are using this Invocation in their own language.
Will you join them in using the Invocation every day - with thought and dedication?

By using the Invocation and encouraging others to use it, no particular group or organization is sponsored.
It belongs to all humanity." - World Goodwill

"The definition of religion, which will in the future prove of greater accuracy than any yet formulated by the theologians, might be expressed as follows:  Religion is the name given to the invocative appeal of humanity and the evocative response of the
greater Life to that cry." - D.K.

"ONE  WORLD UNITED IN A COMMON GOAL -  PEACE"                             G

"One World United in a Common Goal"

Join people all over the world striving to bring peace to our homes, hearts, and communities by planting a Peace Pole and Flags, Peace Pinwheels, or Peace Talks and Prayers.

The Peace Pole started in 1955 by Masahisa Goi, founder of The World Peace Prayer Society, and, recognized by all nations as a symbol of the spirit of humanities united and common goal.

Quote: "As we move forward into this 21st century, we encourage all of you to take a positive step toward universal understanding. Touch people with the message of love. Pray for the peace and happiness of people in all other lands and cultures. Make a commitment to world peace by honoring the earth, honoring its people, and celebrating the unity of the human spirit."
- Masami Saionji, Chairperson of The World Peace Prayer Society

In 1981 the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 36/67 declaring an International Day of Peace.
In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a new resolution 55/282 declaring 21 September of each year as the International Day Of Peace.

B.  Books and Authors                                                          G

"CHRISTMAS OF THE ANGELS" - by Dora van Gelder Kunz - The perennially popular Christmas booklet by clairvoyant author Dora van Gelder Kunz now is available in this new audiocassette. The tape is professionally narrated with musical scoring. Each year, many people give this charming booklet to friends and family as Christmas cards. Dora's original booklet is included with audio purchase.
"To students of the hidden side of life," Dora writes, "Christmas is a most wonderful reality - a far greater reality than most of us think, since it involves the whole course of Nature and not humanity alone . . .  We must remember that the whole earth is thronged with hosts of superphysical beings, angels and archangels and all the Company of Heaven....."

"INSPIRATION: Your Ultimate Calling" - by Wayne W. Dyer - "There’s a voice in the universe calling each of us to remember our purpose—our reason for being here now, in this world of impermanence. The voice whispers, shouts, and sings to us that this experience of being in form, in space and time, knowing life and death, has meaning. The voice is that of inspiration, which is within each and every one of us. In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains how we’ve chosen to enter this world of particles and form. From our place of origin, in ways that we don’t readily comprehend now, we knew what we were coming here to accomplish, and we participated in setting this life process in motion. So why not think this same way?......"

"THE MIRACLE IS YOURS" - by C J Wheat - "We say the words-------we are all GOD'S children, and one with HIS goodness, beauty and truth. How many of us really understand the significance of what is being said? Why do most of us block our good and beautiful from happening with all the barriers we have created? Why? The only answer I can give, that has any real meaning, is that we are not aware of our good, or our true worth of life and of being........"

"ANGEL COURAGE" - by Terry Lynn Taylor - "The authors encourage us to learn to love ourselves no matter what mistakes we've made. "May you always make mistakes," they advise, "just not the same ones." The wisdom of the angels shows us how to laugh at ourselves, live in the moment, put our energy into productive activities, and follow the timing of our hearts by using our own angel courage to greet each day with authenticity and love...."

"SUFISM: Key Concepts In The Practice of Sufism 1" - by M. Fethullah Gülen " 'The heart is the home of God; purify it from whatever is other than Him so that the All-Merciful may descend into His palace at night.' Though simple in outward appearance, Fethullah Gülen is original in thought and action. He embraces all humanity, and is deeply averse to unbelief, injustice, and deviation. His belief and feelings are profound, and his ideas and approach to problems are both wise and rational. A living model of love, ardor, and feeling, he is extraordinarily balanced in his thoughts, acts, and treatment of matters." "SUFISM: Key Concepts In the Practice of Sufism 1"

C.  Health and Well-Being

"There is no Well-Being without the reality of TRUTH - Truth as we know and understand it." -  CJ Wheat
Definition: Truth, n.; - 1. the quality or state of being true, reliable, faithful, honest, pure, sincere, loyal, trustworthy, accurate.
2. that which is true; a fact; a reality; that which conforms to fact or reality; the real or true state of things.- Webster's Unabridged Dict.

1. Project C.U.R.E.
(Commission on Urgent Relief & Equipment)

Connecting Medical Professionals with the World's Most Impoverished People.

Where there is no hope, people perish.
Will you deliver health and hope?

"More than half of the world's population lives below the poverty line, with out access to even the most basic healthcare. More than 11 million children die each year before reaching their fifth birthday. Most of these deaths are preventable.

You can help. While you cannot reach half the world living below poverty, or the 11 million children dying each year, you can affect one, and then another, and then another. Your skills, your time, your energy, it makes all the difference to the one whose hand you touched.

PROJECT C.U.R.E. is looking for medical professionals and non-medical support staff to assist our host, Dr. Azim Sheth, in meeting the needs of those living in conditions of poverty and disease. On a typical day, Dr. Sheth will treat 70 patients. About half are infected with Malaria.

Dr. Sheth hopes that this clinic will be able to screen patients for malaria and diabetes. He would also like surgeons to perform plastic surgery - attaching prosthesis to amputated patients who were victims of the earthquake. If you are a doctor or nurse, Dr. Sheth would appreciate your time in his clinic. If PROJECT C.U.R.E. receives more than 12 doctors, nurses and non-medical support staff, PROJECT C.U.R.E. may split the team to conduct a clinic in an area that has been heavily hit by flooding this year and is desperate to receive a medical team from PROJECT C.U.R.E.

Answer this call to action and help some of most desperately ill and impoverished people in the world on a trip that will change your life forever.

"Aware of the suffering caused by unmindful speech and the inability to listen to others, I am committed to cultivating loving speech and deep listening in order to bring joy and happiness to others and relieve others of their suffering. Knowing that words can create happiness or suffering, I am committed to learn to speak truthfully with words that inspire self-confidence, joy, and hope. I am determined not to spread news that I do not know to be certain and not to criticize or condemn things of which I am not sure. I will refrain from uttering words that can cause division or discord or that can cause the family or the community to split apart. I will make every effort to reconcile all conflicts however small." - Thich Nhat Hanh (On Mindfulness)
